Teaching and Pedagogy

As a graduate teaching assistant, I’ve supported courses across both physical and human geography, from large introductory lectures to small, specialized classes. These courses have covered world regional geography, remote sensing, Google Earth Engine, economic and urban geography, and Latin America. In guest lectures on GPS and thermal remote sensing, I combine traditional lectures with interactive learning through discussions and activities. My aim is to create an engaging, safe space where students not only learn foundational concepts but also apply them creatively in passion-driven projects.

Student Testimonies

PB: Harrison's lecture on thermal remote sensing was fantastic. He knew which topics needed further explanation and went at a pace that was comfortable for everyone. All in all, he did a great job on the guest lectures and kept students engaged through class discussion. He has been a huge help as a TA in this class as well.

DC: Harrison has actively worked to create a safe space for all of his students. He has created an environment where everyone feels as though they can approach him and ask any type of question. The sense of community that he creates, helps to facilitate a better learning environment.

JE: Harrison has been a huge help on my remote sensing project. He has been able to explain the concepts really well and provide new thoughts, ideas, and methods for my project. He has also been quick to respond to any and all questions in and outside of class.
